From sea to summit… will we make it in one piece?

Well, Andy the Landy received a new camshaft sensor and as promised we were ready for our run to Aviemore for our shortened stay of 2 days…. It had to work hard on some of the hills on the A9 and there were a few hills we did not think we would get up, but we did and Andy worked hard to lug all our gear up to Aviemore.

We pitched up in a forest on our own. Not sure why nobody else wanted to pitch here… maybe they did not see it although on the first night we did see a very odd person in the woods who appeared to be wild camping… think he had also been eating the forest mushrooms and smoking the grass!
Loads of really nice walks and cycles through the forest, so we are glad that we decided to bring the bikes and enjoyed exploring some the stunning scenery round the loch on the bikes. On the second day we went to the top of the CairnGorm (sixth highest mountain in Britain)… we had a guided walk as we did not fancy getting lost up there!!! The views were out of this world.

Nearly forgot…. Sarah had her first alcohol free night… some people may be surprised to hear that but it is true and we have almost finished the Sports Mixture sweets that Thomas kindly donated.

As you can see, Benny has also settled into his new lifestyle… Aerobic sleeping and stalking the wildlife and other “happy campers” through the windows.

Next stop is Nessie hunting on Loch Ness!

Oh and Rob… we saw a Ptarmigan at the top of the CairnGorm mountain and even got a photo for you.
