Peidiwch byth â chwarae Scrabble yng Nghymru!

I can’t believe that our first week in Wales is over already. The Riverside caravan site at Betws-y-coed is lovely (thanks to Louise for the recommendation) and was made even better by the fact that they undercharged us by £90… extra beer this week. No chance of sleeping in though as we are woken daily at 6am by the first train rattling past our caravan…. Or is it the caravan rattling, I am not sure.

This is yet another place that we have been left wanting more time at. We have been off on the bikes to explore Swallow Falls, Conwy Falls and Fairy Glen, which were all worth the cycle up all those hills to visit. We have managed to visit Conwy where we found the smallest house in Great Britain (but we didn’t go in as there was a queue of 1), we went across to Anglesey to visit the bizarrely named village of LlanfairPwllgwyngllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

We were both amazed by Penrhyn Castle, which is definitely the most opulent National Trust castle we have seen so far… complete with a £40m Rembrandt! and we went on our white water rafting adventure (our Xmas pressie from Lisa and Ant), took a stroll up to top of Snowdon! (apparently the views are amazing on a clear day!!!) and walked across the Pontsycylite Aqauduct (Thomas Telford strikes again… did he build everything in Britain?) it was awesome if not a little bit scary as it was 200ft up with only a small hand rail.

Can I just say that John had his first alcohol free night this week! He was very proud of his 12 week unbroken record but slipped up on Sunday night and forgot to have a beer. He promises not let it happen again though.

As they say in Wales…Abersoch stop nesaf ... dal i fyw y freuddwyd
